This custom home boasts a contemporary design with clean lines, large black windows, and a white stucco exterior with a dark roof. One of the main challenges of this project was to provide enough space as a buffer to the road in front. This led to the “L” shaped house with a narrow street face. The home incorporates large rectangular windows, and an open right side of the house for southern light exposure, all of which were used to maximize the light the interior receives throughout the day.
inside continues to incorporate the contemporary design with an open glass rail staircase that runs from the basement all the way to the second floor. One other challenge we had to overcome when designing this home was a way to create a large open recreation room for the children to play in, while offering the ability to provide privacy and limit noise throughout all the floors with the open staircase.
The Family room and Kitchen share a feature wall/bar as one of the space’s main focal points. A linear glass fireplace can be found in the family room, as well as the large loggia, which has views back into the family room and a grill space.
