This new custom French country home is designed to reflect the home owners sense for classic and clean lines for their home. The light stucco exterior with detailed banding and simple window surrounds accent the dramatic contrasting dark windows and roof. Coach lanterns, down spouts with collector boxes, and delicate iron portico railings give delicate and interesting details to the exterior. Located on a larger lot of western McLean, the homeowners wanted to have a nice wide street presence.
The design of the floor plan created a barreled ceiling central gallery with a grand side staircase with a large bank of windows. The central foyer enters into a central hall before entering into the family room. A side porch is entered from the family room or main stair hall allowing easy access to the rear yard. The main living spaces connect visually to the yard through banks of windows from the family room and nook.
The upper floor is crowned with a central gallery allowing access to the owner’s suite. The deluxe bath and large walk in closets are nice accents the entry sitting room and owners sleeping are itself. Each of the other four bedrooms had interesting ceiling details as well as an in-suite bath and good size walk in closets.
